We're now a 2 mortgage family...and thus we will accept donations of non-perishable items.
We put in a bid on the house pictured below, and it was accepted yesterday. We signed all the paperwork today, and barring the inspection and appraisal, it's ours.
It's about two miles from Doug and Barb, it's got a pool, two bathrooms, and an extra addition that's like an apartment, complete with its own entrance. There's a huge double lot yard and we are overjoyed that we were able to do this.
Now, we MUST sell that house in Kannapolis, so if you know of anyone in need of a house, have them let Kannapolis Real Estate know...SOON!
Enjoy the pictures...we'll take more later.
Have a good night!

Scotty The Golden Boy...
Well, thanks to my wife, Scott has been saved for another week. Constantine was voted off of American Idol this week in a shocking turn of events. Scott wasn't even in the bottom three!
I can't wait to see the cell phone bill this month!
On a different note...
There is snow in the forecast again for May 2. Somewhere...my prayers are being heard!
As for today, it's scattered rain showers, but right now it's very dark, and the rain is blowing around ferociously.

Saving Scott Savol...
It's 10:30 on Tuesday night. We should be in the bed, as we have to get up early to go to school. However, Scott Savol did not do his best tonight on American Idol, and my wife believes it is her sole duty to save him, and keep him on the show.
She's been calling since 9:00pm, and has gotten through 52 times...so far...she's still calling.
I'm going to bed now, but I know I'll be hearing the clicking of the phone keys for at least the next half hour, and the drone of a mechanical voice saying: "Thanks for voting for contestant number 6, watch American Idol tomorrow night. This message brought to you by Cingular Wireless."
Also, being a married woman and all...she's upset that Bo Bice has a girlfriend...an ugly girlfriend in Liz's eyes. Maybe Anthony Fedorov's still single...and would like to hang out with us on the weekends when he's voted off...(hopefully tomorrow night...)

Well, it DID snow...a little...
We got about an inch on Sunday morning. Then, after it melted in roughly half an hour, it rained the rest of the day.
It started snowing again on Sunday night, with a 1-3 inch prediction, but we really got 1-3 inches of nothing. It snowed a little on the way to work Monday morning, and I think that was the last of the flakes I'll see until October.
Everything's turning green and blooming now, and we're thinking of putting the air conditioner back in by the middle of May.
This has inspired another haiku:
Spring is not welcome
Snow was less than expected
One more blizzard, please.

Sorry, It's Been Awhile...
I haven't updated in awhile because my hands are gnarled from typing. I have a professor who is a masochist and seems to derive pleasure from his death by keyboard method of instruction. I have so much of what I can only call busywork from this guy that I can barely think and breath on my own at this point. I talked to a couple of people from class earlier in the week, and none of them were coherent, babbling on and on and slobbering profusely. Some of the students in the class are requesting an incomplete, and will have until October to finish. I will NOT be going that route, I want this done now.
The class in on Multicultural Education, and one of the busywork assignments is to put ourselves into a situation that we would not otherwise go. The professor wants us to experience the "other"...someone who is so wholly different so that we can get a perspective on their levels. The point of the plan is noble, but his plan is for people to go to Gay Bars and experience that lifestyle. What I'd like to know, is how the Gay Bar scene would transfer to my classroom? I can be sympathetic and accepting, I can be tolerant and understanding, I can accept anyone regardless of race, gender, class, or orientation. However, I am not of the bar lifestyle, and neither are the children that I teach. I don't see how the experience is related to education.
Needless to say, I'm not doing that. I chose a different "other" to experience.
Also, I'm concerned that the college I chose to go to has this "Multicultural" requirement. It's one class that is supposed to change our modes of thinking and the expectation is that we become all encompassing of every difference. I tend to think that this should be a part of the entire collegiate experience, rather than one class that you take and then it's over.
I'm just fed up at the moment...this blog is a great vent.
Forgive me, I just want this class to be over with. I'm at my wit's end.

The Sun...
It is 70 degrees today, and I'm miserable. I'm not ready for the cold to be gone yet. We were all just sitting in the front room, and I was sweating...I hate it.
On the upside, though, American Idol was exciting tonight as Scott Savol was rescued from the bottom three, as well as Vonzelle. When are they going to send that Fedorov kid home? Nikko should have stayed. I'm ready for Anwar to go as well.
