Santa Came!

We went to bed early but I heard a sound,
Got back out of bed and look what I found!
Santa's been here, though he left in his sleigh,
But he left us all this for Christmas Day!

Gingerbread House Smackdown!

We had the best time tonight at a Christmas Party/Gingerbread House Contest. Liz's Aunt's side of the family all got together (and I'll tag them on Facebook when this posts!) for food and fun. Even though there was trepidation about making the Gingerbread House, we went with Lily's design of a Cayuga Indian inspired Longhouse since she's been learning about the Cayuga in school. She won the "Little Builders" award and was thrilled! Charlie and Lily both ran around for four hours, eating, playing games, and having a great time! We had an absolute ball!

Santa came on the Fire Truck!

Santa came on the Firetruck today from Eggertsville Hose Company. This is one of our favorite Christmas traditions. The Fireman Elves passed out Candy Canes and then we came in and had hot chocolate!

Playing in the snow tonight!

Got a few inches of snow this weekend...the rain melted some of it today but the kids still wanted to go out and play. It's heavy and wet, so their snowman was kind of a pancake/volcano.

I Am On An Island

Charlotte is learning the letter "I" this week and needed something to take into school for Show and Tell. So we came up with a book called I Am On An Island!

Recent Field Trips!

Lily and Charlie have both been on Field Trips this month. Charlotte went to the great Pumpkin Farm and Lily went to a Nature Preserve. Great way to kick off Autumn as it's finally starting to cool down. Thanks to all the teachers for flawless trips--these are the things they'll remember forever!
