Getting Charlotte to smile...
I don't know if it's me singing Tori Amos's "Cars and Guitars" or talking like Madea, but the kid is smiling!

Early visit from Santa!
Lily got to see Santa a little early this year thanks to the Make A Wish Foundation! The people from Make A Wish are always including us when fun stuff comes up and they invited us to meet the Macy's Santa Clause as he goes on tour around the country leading up to Christmas!

Santa makes special Make-A-Wish visit

Lily had a blast writing Santa a special letter and getting to see the Fire Truck...she even sat inside the fire truck! Even Charlotte got in on the action!
Thanks so much to Make A Wish!

Charlotte is Two Months Old!
We've made it two months! We're still tired but things are getting better! Some highlights:
She's sleeping 6-8 hours at night. (Thank God!)She's smiling a lot, especially at the ceiling fan!
We've tried a few nicknames but Charlie is starting to stick, though Lily thinks we should continue calling her Charlotte.
She's learned how to scoot down in the infant crib and kick it.
Her little personality is starting to emerge. She likes high contrast things and high pitched noises!
She got to meet her Nana TT and Paw last week, who held her nonstop. She LOVED that!

Halloween Party!
Lily and Charlotte went to a Halloween Party at the local High School. Lily saw several classmates and Charlotte was a REALLY good girl at her first party! Lily got to trick or treat and had snacks and got her face painted. The High School kids that put the party on were top notch and so nice. Had a great night! Lily dressed as Doc McStuffins, from her favorite TV show, and Charlotte, of course, was a Strawberry Princess!

The Leaves Fall Down - Lily's New Digital Story
Lily read and colored a story at school this week about the leaves falling down. We made a digital version to share online. You can download it to your digital device as a PDF too!

An update on the bambino...
A few new pics. One of Liz reading to the girls, one with a little background cat issue, and couple smiles we've caught. She doesn't smile often yet, but when she does it's kinda cute. So far, Charlotte is largely nocturnal, and sleeps very well during the day. Not so sleepy at night, but really hungry! Lily sleeps right through everything so only Liz and I are zombies!

When Pinterest Works...
I have to admit, I like Pinterest for collecting resources together and I like seeing the cool stuff that folks come up with. I've even tried a few things, but what I'm sharing here is just BRILLIANT with a capital B. A Pinterest participate pinned the following: http://www.cometogetherkids.com/2012/07/stuffed-animal-storage-solution.html and I thought it was an incredibly creative idea. The gist of it is that you can purchase a bean bag cover, fill it with stuffed animals and voila: clean room AND a cool bean bag without all those little beans in it. Lily and I did this tonight. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get the cover. It was $20, but that had other ones that were bigger/more expensive. We signed up for their text service and were able to use the 20% coupon they texted me, or if you sign up for their mailing list, they send a 20% coupon virtually every other week. We usually save it for Keurig Kcups, but I used it for the bean bag cover, saving $4. This worked so awesomely well and Lily is THRILLED!

Smurfs!
The Smurfs came to the Boulevard Mall this morning and Lily dressed up to meet them! She got her face painted and had some Italian ice cream! (Also of note...Smurfette had no top on. I wasn't sure whether to be worried or not.) At any rate, Lily had a blast!
