We went to the Aquarium of Niagara in Niagara Falls today and Lily got to go "Behind the Scenes" of the Penguin exhibit!
One of the Penguin Wranglers brought a penguin out for Lily to meet and give her an opportunity to ask questions! She LOVED it!
The penguin didn't like me though. It was fine with Lily giving it a little pat, but it snapped at me. I did get to rub it's little back some...eventually! The feathers were very smooth. I've never touched a penguin before! We talked about it being a bird with wings but it can't fly. The guy from the aquarium explained to Lily that it uses it's wings like flippers or fins. Lily said, "so it can swim, right?"
She was so excited with her adventure this morning, and talked about the penguins the entire rest of our visit. When we got to the gift shop, she looked at all of the stuffed animals, and guess what she got?
A Baby Seal.
She's a Fisher after all. Predictability isn't in her genes.
