My School's Website

My school's website has included some pictures of me and my students.

To see them, click here: Website One

There's another one here: Website Two

Our students also created their own newspaper, which we published this week. You can read it here: Student Newspaper

We had a good week, although it was very cold. The temperature at school this morning was -14 degrees. Wind chills were in the -30's, and my heater stopped working. It got down to about 58 degrees, and then miraculously kicked on. I don't mind the cold, but I did consider wearing my coat in class.

Have a great weekend!

One last picture of the snow...all three feet of it! This is starting to become a snowblog...so I'll ease off of the white stuff for awhile! It is pretty neat though... Posted by Hello

Because the snow blows around constantly, there are mega drifts everywhere. This particular side of school has four and five foot drifts that are half covering the windows. I love it! Posted by Hello

This is the parking lot at school. I circled my car in yellow. Note the snow piles in the background, that are much higher than the cars. Posted by Hello

This is the snow drift outside my window at school...AFTER the plow came through. The bottom layer is about 1 foot...the middle part is over 3 feet. No one else is appreciating Nature's beauty like I am. I'm becoming a snow martyr. Posted by Hello

Technically...it's still in the family. In our quest to achieve National Recognition for every member of the family, Laura's (Adam's wife..) mother was on the USA Today website in the crowd at the Inauguration on Thursday. She's on the extreme right hand side of the picture. There is no success without effort, family, and the rest of you need to start making a stronger one if we are to fulfill our goal! Posted by Hello

We went to the casino last night during what the Weather Channel was calling the "Winter Wallop." This is what our car looked like this morning. One of the hotel employees came outside and helped us dig the car out! It only snowed about 7 or 8 inches, but the wind was blowing...making it near blizzard conditions, with 2 and 3 foot drifts. (I loved it!) The temperature is currently a balmy 8 degrees...it was -3 yesterday with windchills in the -20's. Posted by Hello

The road outside the house where the plow left two and three feet mounds of snow! In the area parking lots, there are 15-25 foot mountains of snow from the plows! Posted by Hello

This is one of the doors into the high school that is across from my window. Notice the couple of feet of snow in front of the door, and under the window. We are supposed to be getting another foot of snow tomorrow and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!  Posted by Hello

This is the after picture...After the plow came through! Posted by Hello

This was my view driving home today in the over one foot of snow that got dumped on the area. The weather called for a possibility of 1 to 3 inches. Last weekend, when they called for 4-5 inches, we got nothing. Weather prediction up here is never on target. Even the Weather Channel showed no precip on the map the entire time it snowed! (I like it though...) By the way, the wind was blowing the snow around, and there were 2 foot drifts between the cars in the parking lot. I was wet up to my knees getting in the car! Posted by Hello

One of my kids wore this to school this week. I thought it was funny. Posted by Hello

Liz bought a Beaker doll for Christmas for me. (Science Related Gift...) I came into work earlier this week to discover that something was amiss! Posted by Hello

Upon closer inspection, it was indeed the crime scene that I feared... Posted by Hello

Of the folks who performed last night on American Idol, these two were our favorites. The dress brought up images of the purple and black beast Ursula in The Little Mermaid, and the Ellen lookalike almost killed me with deep and throaty exit song. I CAN'T WAIT for tonight! Posted by Hello

More of my favorites from last night's show. The one girl here, spanking her hip, caused a National Uproar. We spoke to people in three different states during her performance, crying in fits of laughter. Posted by Hello

IT BEGAN TONIGHT!!!! We laughed until we cried, and in between the commercials we watched Wayne Newton on Larry King Live. We are heavily nauseated at this juncture. By the way, what was up with Sybil at the end of Idol? The song she sang at the end before she left made the dogs whine and howl. (It didn't do a whole lot for me either.) Can't wait for tomorrow night! Posted by Hello

I took this picture on the way home from school today. When its not 3 degrees outside, this is a river. Posted by Hello

Our school has its own plow. We had about six inches or so of snow in the last couple of days, but up towards school there was 8 or 10 inches, with drifts over a foot! I loved it! Posted by Hello

My brother bought the game Pitfall for me for Christmas. It is EXACTLY like the old video game for ATARI, with one small exception. In the early 80's, I could rack up 10's of 1000's of points. I've played for quite a while today, and can only get past 4 screens. Tomorrow will be quite a pathetic day as I devote hours to regaining mastery. Posted by Hello

Hooper has back end issues at the moment and has to wear this Elizabethan collar. She absolutely hates it. This morning, she walked right up to the wall and stuck the collar flush against it. It was like a reverse lamp. Right now, she is outside with Doug in the dark. All you can see is what appears to be a disembodied lampshade...it's quite spooky. Posted by Hello
